Tasting Notes

This 2024 O Rosal is fresh and complex, showing mandarin, grapefruit, ripe peach, pineapple, lime, green apple, sea spray, orange blossom, mint, delicate florals, and mineral notes. The palate is medium- to full-bodied and lively, with crisp acidity, soft creaminess, ripe citrus and orchard fruit, chalky texture, saline tension, and a long mineral-laced finish.

Food Paring

Pair this vibrant Rías Baixas white with shellfish, grilled fish, seafood risotto, or cream-based dishes to complement its citrus lift, saline finish, and silky texture. It also works beautifully with Asian-inspired chicken and rice, vegetarian pasta, appetizers, and snacks when you want a bright, aromatic white with refreshing precision.

Professional Reviews

91 James Suckling

"Fresh and vibrant, with aromas of limes, green apples and sea spray. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, a chalky texture and a dry and saline finish that shows lively citrus tension."

91 Wine Spectator

"An elegant white, mouthwatering and well-meshed, with ripe pineapple, apple peel, pink grapefruit sorbet and blanched almond flavors, plus delicate flourishes of lemon thyme and white pepper. Long and silky, with good drive through the mineral-laced finish. Albariño, Caiño and Loureiro. Drink now through 2030."

90 Wine Enthusiast

"Ripe yet tangy watermelon notes lead the nose and carry through seamlessly on the palate. The acidity is particularly pronounced, and those seeking an especially brisk edge will likely find enjoyment."

91.5 Ken's Wine Guide

"This deep yellow colored Albariño based wine from Bodegas Terras Gauda in the Rias Baixas region of Spain opens with a lemon zest and pineapple bouquet with hints of white peach and green tea. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, slightly viscous, and clean. The flavor profile is a nectarine pit and lemon zest blend with notes of green apple and chamomile tea. I also detected hints of mild pineapple, saline, and chalky minerality. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity are nicely extended. I would pair this very good Spanish white blend with a swordfish skewers and grilled pineapple. Enjoy - Ken"

Region Information

Rías Baixas is a coastal wine region in northwest Spain, famous for crisp, aromatic white wines made from Albariño. Strong Atlantic influence, high rainfall, and granite soils contribute to wines with bright acidity, citrus flavors, and mineral character. Rías Baixas wines are widely appreciated for their freshness, purity, and exceptional food‑pairing versatility.

Spain has the largest vineyard area in the world and a winemaking history that spans thousands of years. It is known for regions such as Rioja, Ribera del Duero, and Priorat, which produce distinctive red wines. Spain is also famous for fortified wines like Sherry and sparkling Cava. Modern investments and techniques have elevated quality while preserving regional identity.
