Tasting Notes

Bright aromas of raspberry, cranberry, and red cherry are supported by light floral tones and subtle spice. Medium?bodied and silky, the palate offers concentrated red fruit, soft tannins, and lively acidity through the finish.

Food Paring

Excellent with roasted poultry, pork, or dishes like chicken Parmesan that balance richness and acidity. It also pairs well with braised meats and earthy vegetable dishes.

Professional Reviews

"Deep, generous and layered, the 2022 Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands) is a large-scale wine with a deep well of rich mocha, black raspberry, crushed rocks and pomegranate-like tartness. The inclusion of 25% whole clusters lends an attractive spicy lift without any herbaceousness. There’s notable freshness here, providing a lovely counterpoint to the 2022’s weight and gravitas. Rombauer wines certainly carry with them an implication of a certain style, but alas, suspend your preconceived notions. This is a wine of finesse in this challenging vintage."

Region Information

California’s Central Coast wine region stretches along the Pacific Ocean and is known for its cool‑climate growing conditions. Ocean fog, coastal winds, and varied topography make the region ideal for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc. Central Coast wines often balance ripe fruit with natural acidity and complexity, reflecting the region’s blend of coastal influence and inland warmth.

California is the largest and most diverse wine-producing state in the United States, accounting for the majority of the nation’s wine output. Its varied climates range from cool coastal regions to warm inland valleys, allowing for a wide range of grape varieties. Napa Valley and Sonoma are internationally renowned for premium wines, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The state also leads in innovation, sustainability practices, and modern winemaking techniques.
