Tasting Notes

Aromas of blueberries, minerals, dried flowers, licorice, and dark berries rise from the glass with attractive lift. The palate is full-bodied and refined, with silky tannins, integrated fruit, spice, and a long polished finish.

Food Paring

Pair this Margaux with roast duck, lamb, or beef dishes when you want polished Bordeaux character with plush fruit. Its cedar, tobacco, and floral nuance also make it a smart partner for mushroom dishes and aged cheeses.

Professional Reviews

94 James Suckling

"Aromas of blueberries and minerals with hints of dried flowers follows through to a full body, with silky tannins and a beautifully integrated fruit and tannin profile. Very sexy and refined. So hard to wait on this. But better in 2016."

91 Wine Spectator

"This is fresh and engaging, with firm but lively singed alder and apple wood notes framing a core of plum, red currant and steeped black cherry fruit. Offers pepper and tobacco hints on the grippy finish. This will need a touch of cellaring to round into form. Best from 2015 through 2028."

89 Robert Parker Wine Advocate

"This final blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and the rest split between Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot tips the scales at 14.5% natural alcohol. Sweet black currant fruit intermixed with cedar wood, licorice and some spice give this wine beautiful aromatics, as one should expect from a Margaux, medium to full body, silky tannins and a long finish. This is definitely a sleeper of the vintage and still underpriced for a classified growth from Margaux. Drink it over the next 15 years."
