Tasting Notes

Aromatic and layered, combining forest berries and black currant with peppery spice, wild herbs, and tobacco tones. Medium-to-full with natural freshness, it finishes silky with refined structure.

Food Paring

Pair with rosemary roast lamb or grilled bistecca to match the wine’s savory herbs and tannins. It’s also excellent with mushroom risotto or truffle pasta to emphasize its earthy-spice complexity.

Professional Reviews

96 Vinous

"The 2020 Haiku, the estate’s Sangiovese/Merlot/Cabernet Franc blend, is once again impressive. Dark, explosive and layered, the 2020 delivers the goods. It’s a wine that offers a mix of regional character with an international flair. One of the more expressive wines in the range, Haiku shows the more exuberant side of the year off in spades. Time in the glass releases the Franc aromatics very nicely. 2026 – 2040 Lorenza Sebasti and Marco Pallanti presented a stellar set of new releases. Ama bottled all of their flagship wines in 2020, but readers should be aware these are some of the most reticent wines of the year. Patience is essential. That should not be much of an issue, as the Ama flagships all boast super track records when it comes to aging. In recent years, the wines have acquired an extra touch of finesse that is palpable."
