Collection: Monastrell

Monastrell (or Mouvedre as its known in France) While usually a blending grape in France, Monastrell is primarily used for varietal wines in Spain and at one point was the 2nd most planted red grape of Spain. With its flavors of blackberries, black cherries, and plums with notes of mocha, black pepper, and leather it has grown increasingly popular in the US particularly the ones from the southern parts of Spain like Jumilla, Yecla, and Alicante. A great grape to explore if like rich red blends or Syrahs.
