Tasting Notes

Highly aromatic with violet, blueberry, and mineral notes that feel pure and focused. The palate is full-bodied yet precise, driven by fine-grained tannins and a distinctive chalky, mineral texture through the long finish.

Food Paring

Pair with grilled lamb chops, skirt steak, or smoky barbecue to meet the wine’s depth and structure. It also shines with roasted mushrooms or eggplant dishes that echo the wine’s earthy mineral edge.

Professional Reviews

94 Descorchados

"Concreto has been made since 2014, always driven by the idea of making a pure malbec, with no oak influence, yet at the same time devoid of—or at least with much less of—the sweetness that’s usually associated with the variety. It always came from Altamira, until this vintage, which for the first time includes 40% Gualtallary fruit. But its style hasn’t changed. It remains a juicy, fruity expression of malbec with outstandingly tense tannins supported by sharp acidity that adds freshness."

Region Information

Mendoza is Argentina’s most important wine region, located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains. High altitude vineyards, dry climate, and abundant sunshine create ideal conditions for Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and other varieties. Mendoza wines are known for ripe fruit flavors, concentration, and balanced acidity.

Argentina is South America’s largest wine producer and is especially known for Malbec. Vineyards are often planted at high altitudes near the Andes Mountains, resulting in intense flavors and natural acidity. Mendoza is the country’s most important wine region. Argentine wines combine old-world traditions with modern techniques.
