Tasting Notes - Descorchardos "Sideral comes from vineyards that stretch outward from the Altaïr winery in Alto Cachapoal. And this year, in another very good, cool vintage with volumes as high as in 2021, it displays a very fruity and very floral side at the same time. This year’s blend is 71% cabernet sauvignon, 21% syrah, 5% petite verdot, and the rest is carmenere and cabernet franc. With 100% of the wine aged in different vessels (eggs, amphorae, foudres, and barrels) this is perhaps the freshest and fruitiest version we can recall, even more so than the 2021, which was already displaying this major shift in style toward the fresher and livelier side. There’s lots of red fruit here and lots of herbs and flowers, along with nervy, taut, sharp tannins and acidity that adds a crunchy character. An excellent version of Sideral, perhaps the best to date since it was launched to market in 2002."
