Tasting Notes - Discorchados "This is Fallabrino's "classic" tannat, a red from vineyards planted in the mid-1990s on the calcareous clay of Atlántida, about four kilometers from the spot where the Río de la Plata meets the salty waters of the Atlantic. With 30% of the blend aged in very old barrels, this is a photograph of the variety in Canelones, with its austerity, its earthy tones (like nebbiolo), and the firm, intense, and rough tannins surrounded by ripe red fruits, spices, and flowers. Although you can drink it now with salami, it would be better to wait three to four years for it to gain complexity."
