Tasting Notes

Oremus Tokaji Aszú 3 Puttonyos 2018 opens with floral and fruity aromas, candied pineapple, dried lemon, glazed peach, honeysuckle, beeswax, orange blossom, baked apricot, persimmon, guava, and dried mint. The palate is dense, creamy, fresh, and vivid, with juicy acidity, dried-fruit richness, mineral undertones, praline, marmalade, salted caramel, and a long finish touched by ginger, cardamom, and mace.

Food Paring

Pair this Tokaji Aszú with blue cheese, foie gras, fruit tarts, crème brûlée, or honeyed desserts to highlight its vivid acidity and luscious dried-fruit depth. It is also a luxurious after-dinner pour on its own when you want a 500ml dessert wine with elegance, freshness, and a long spiced finish.

Professional Reviews

94 James Suckling

"Attractive notes of candied pineapple, dried lemons, glazed peaches, honeysuckle and beeswax. Dense and creamy yet fresh and vivid with juicy acidity coming through. Delicious dried fruit character with mineral undertones."

93 Wine Spectator

"Aromatic orange blossom and dried mint notes accent up-front flavors of baked apricot, persimmon and guava in this bright, elegant version. As rich hints of praline, marmalade and salted caramel push through midpalate, they play off the well-honed acidity, leading to the long finish, which is spiced with ground ginger, cardamom and mace details. Furmint, Harslevelu, Zeta and Sarga Muskotaly. Drink now through 2038. 4,000 cases made."
