Tasting Notes

Light-bodied and fragrant with pomegranate and raspberry notes, plus hints of white pepper, mushroom, and savory tones. The palate stays delicate with a creamy touch and fine, herb-flecked tannins that give gentle grip.

Food Paring

Pair with roast chicken, duck, or pork tenderloin where the wine’s red-fruit lift complements browned edges. Vegetarian-friendly matches include mushroom risotto or miso-glazed eggplant to mirror the wine’s earthy savor.

Professional Reviews

90 Wine Enthusiast

"This brick-tinted wine from the Nelson region, at the top of the South Island, needs some aeration when first poured. Once the reductive aromas blow off, it offers aromas of pomegranate and raspberry cordial, white pepper, mushrooms and hoisin sauce. While lightweight overall, there’s some creaminess to the mouthfeel, with herb-flecked, cat’s tongue tannins."
