Tasting Notes

Pale straw with greenish reflections, it’s fresh, mineral and pungent on the nose with almond and bakery notes. Bone-dry and crisp yet surprisingly rich, it finishes full and clean.

Food Paring

Pair with Iberico ham, salted Marcona almonds, or olives for a classic savory match. It’s also excellent with fried seafood, grilled fish, or a simple plate of shrimp and lemon.

Professional Reviews

92 Decanter

"Complex, refined style, nutty and fruity, expressive, subtle. Balanced, deep, gently bitter, long. Textbook fino! One sip and you never want to leave."

91 Wine Spectator

"Most of my notes—and the notes from Chris Struck, my fellow taster—are about food rather than the wine itself. Or maybe the wine tastes like game, like partridge meat, nutmeats, sautéed onions deglazed with lime juice. Complicated, fascinating, reductive and delicious, this is a wine to pour with any of the above."

89 Wine & Spirits Magazine

"More yellow than Lustau's manzanilla, Jarana is a lovely, proper fino with a nose of iodine, lemon blossom and popcorn. The palate is staunch and doesn't back down; the high-toned nut and citrus flavors seem classic and elevated. And the finish is intense and frames everything in walnut oil and toast."

Region Information

Jerez is a historic wine region in southern Spain, globally famous for the production of Sherry wines. Made primarily from Palomino, Pedro Ximénez, and Moscatel grapes, Jerez wines range from dry to intensely sweet styles. Unique aging methods and a warm Andalusian climate contribute to complex, distinctive wines with strong heritage value.

Spain has the largest vineyard area in the world and a winemaking history that spans thousands of years. It is known for regions such as Rioja, Ribera del Duero, and Priorat, which produce distinctive red wines. Spain is also famous for fortified wines like Sherry and sparkling Cava. Modern investments and techniques have elevated quality while preserving regional identity.
