Tasting Notes - Alka is Hacienda Araucano’s top red. It’s 100% carménère from estate-owned vineyards in Lolol, in western Colchagua, along with some from the famous Apalta zone in the same valley, but closer to the interior mountains. This version has delicate and fresh fruit with a touch of spice and herbs. The oak is still present, but there’s enough fruit to absorb it. Leave this wine for another three or four years—it will only gain in complexity.
