Tasting Notes

Aromas of tropical fruit, honey, acacia flowers, vanilla, and spice lead into a rich yet refreshing palate. Lemon, apricot, toasted nuts, beeswax, and stony minerality carry through a long, bone-dry finish.

Food Paring

Pair this creamy, mineral Semillon with mushroom risotto or a tangy goat cheese salad for an elegant match. Its bright citrus and savory depth also complement grilled halibut, swordfish, or tuna.

Professional Reviews

95 Vinous

"The 2024 Semillón comes from Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo and was aged 15 months in French oak, 35% under flor. Expressive for the variety, it opens with hazelnut, nutty hints, vanilla, caramel and candied fruit. Dry and enveloping on entry, it narrows through the mid-palate with a compact texture. The finish stretches the aging flavors and recovers some of the breadth lost in 2023. It is a stylistic wine in which aging defines the profile, moving Semillón into another register."

94 James Suckling

"A semillon that shows aromas of minerals, beeswax and lemon peel with touches of fine lees, toast and white nuts. Bright, pure and round on the palate, with a medium to full body and a long. attractive, bone-dry, minerally finish with more bones than flesh. Drink from 2027."

93 Natalie Maclean

"Alejandro Vigil and Adrianna Catena created El Enemigo to showcase unconventional grapes like Semillon, aged here under a layer of flor borrowed from sherry-making. Ripe pear and a touch of honeysuckle lead the way, a bright, salty snap, close by. Rich and layered, complexity carries through for a wine at this price. Serve it with grilled chicken breasts or pan-fried Mahi Mahi."

95 Club Oenologique

"Elegant and nutty, with pithy citrus, juicy stone fruit and delicate rice-papery layers of complexity, this delicious wine is a study in subtlety and something to savour."
