Tasting Notes

Concentrated and expressive, offering ripe cherry, blackberry, plum, and balsamic notes accented by subtle spice and oak. The palate is rich yet lively, with vibrant acidity, polished tannins, and a long, juicy finish.

Food Paring

A natural match for tomato?based pasta dishes, braised meats, and grilled lamb that complement its acidity and depth. Also excellent with aged cheeses or rich, rustic Italian fare.

Professional Reviews

93 Wine Advocate

"The organic Cordero di Montezemolo 2020 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Funtanì is a darkly concentrated red wine with a rich bouquet and a savory side that recalls leather and cured tobacco. Its fruity side shows baked plum and dried blackberry. This is an especially enriched red wine with ample textural power from 70-year-old vines in La Morra's Annunziata. It reveals more complexity and freshness as it opens in the glass. Production is 9,000 bottles."
