Mencia is a little known grape from northwestern Spain. Once relegated to use as a table wine it is now considered to make some of the most elegant wines in all of Spain. The grape was brought to prominence by Alvaro Palacios with his ‘Petalos’ it is now a sought after medium bodied red.
